Our Story

1998 - Where it all began…

John and Sarah Bunjo form Christian Restoration Ministries (CRM) to serve the people of Bombo, Uganda. 

  • CRM in Uganda is a registered charity and has many parts including the church at Bombo, a Bible school, a women’s ministry, itinerant preaching, community-based work and the running of Way of Salvation Primary School. John is a current trustee on the Board of Children of Hope.

  • John and Sarah join with the Founding Trustees to form Christian Restoration Ministries International (CRMI) in the UK, raising funds for the work of CRM in Uganda.

  • ‘Children of Hope’ is added to the charity’s name, highlighting its focus on supporting children’s education, health, and wellbeing through sponsorship, medical support, and social programmes.

  • The charity conducts its first medical mission.

  • Way of Salvation Primary School in Bombo is built.

  • Launch of a social housing programme to support vulnerable communities.

  • Great Hope Primary School in Nakaseke is built.

  • Development of enterprise programmes to empower local livelihoods.

  • Pastors Sam and Teddy Sessanga take over the work in Nakaseke and form Restoration Healing Power.

    Pastor Sam and his wife Teddy Blessing look after all the projects in Nakaseke area. They have six children of their own and provide a home for several more orphans.

    Teddy runs a craft group with the local ladies making and selling their mats, bags, baskets and jewellery locally and in the UK.
